Senior QA Engineer

Summary

This role will give you the opportunity to work as part of the QA team on the release of automated software projects. As a Senior QA Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of our software automation through comprehensive manual and automated testing. You will collaborate with crossfunctional teams including developers product managers and customers to identify and report defects verify fixes and provide valuable feedback on the user experience. By working closely with software developers and project managers you will be able to understand what the solution is meant to do its key features and its users. Once you understand the solution you will then carry out functional stress performance and reliability testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that validated deliverables meet functional and design specifications and requirements.
• Test enhancements bug fixes and newly developed features focusing on quality performance and reliability. Implement regression functional data validation reliability stability compatibility and performance testing for new and existing functionality in a wide range of test environments.
• Interpret scoring and result data to determine whether software is operating within acceptable tolerances as defined by QA process.
• Analyze failed test cases to identify failure points or external causes (bad test data missed requirements test bed issues etc)
• Discuss scenarios and fixes with senior QA engineers and project managers.
• Respond to and engage with multiple teams for escalated production issues and help test in development and production environment.
• Setup test beds and test environments troubleshoot and assess platform issues.
• Attend regular virtual sync meetings and report progress/issues to QA team.
• Conduct manual and automated testing of software applications including integration and regression testing and report the results.
• Identify report and track software defects using a bug tracking system and work closely with developers to ensure timely resolution.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of test data test environments and test documentation.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the QA process tools and infrastructure. Provide input and feedback on software design usability and user experience from a testing perspective.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in software testing
• 3 years of experience in an Agile development environment
• Experience working with various types of software applications including web applications mobile applications and desktop applications

Essential Skills:

• Strong understanding of software development methodologies
• Expertise in computer hardware components including CPUs memory storage devices and network interfaces.
• Expertise in writing comprehensive test plans test cases and test reports.
• Familiarity with JIRA Confluence and other ticketing/issue tracking and documentation tools.
• Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills to identify and resolve complex defects.
• Ability to analyze and interpret test results to identify and report defects.
• Knowledge of software quality metrics and how to measure and improve software quality.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with crossfunctional teams including developers designers and product managers.
• Ability to stay uptodate on the latest hardware software and testing technologies.

Desirable Skills:

• Experience with continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines.
• Experience with scripting/programming languages including C# batch Python and PowerShell.
• Familiarity with basic Linux desktop and common commands.
• Ability to determine and correctly categorize test bed issues application issues automation wrapper issues and framework issues.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Passion for quality and a commitment to excellence in software development.
• Familiarity with PC games and gaming platforms (Steam Ubisoft).
