Marketing Officer role:

Were recruiting a Marketing Officer to help significantly build the level and quality of student enquiries. Were looking for someone who can demonstrate a willingness and ability to achieve results. This position could suit someone seeking parttime employment on a range between 18 and 30 hours a week. The role will be hybrid working no more than 50% home working with a flexible approach to hours on both parts including some evening and weekend working. The position reports to the Marketing Manager with whom you will work closely.


The College:

Our College is a small independent teaching institution and educational charity registered with the Office for Students. We have been educating students since 1988. We are based in a large Georgian townhouse in the centre of York with excellent transport links. We currently offer a BSc (Hons) in Acupuncture and also MScs in Nutrition and Chinese Herbal Medicine. We recruit 65 to 100 students to these courses each year. Its a niche market which is well understood and we have a range of new initiatives in progress. In addition our busy and wellrespected teaching clinics provide subsidised acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine treatment and nutritional advice for the local community.


Our ideal candidate:

Experienced marketer with a proven

Proficiency in the use of all social media platforms.

Detailed knowledge of digital marketing techniques content curation & distribution

Innovative and motivated

Uses resources efficiently

High level of organisation and planning skills.

Excellent standard of English and communication skills.

Has a degree in Marketing or a related field or is already working in Marketing.

Wants to develop and advance within NCAs marketing department.

Is skilled with Microsoft Office suite particularly Word Outlook and Excel.

Has SEO advertising knowledge.

Has experience using Canva or equivalent.

Can think creatively to come up with innovative marketing solutions.

Can manage a project from start to finish and work to deadlines.

Can communicate new and complex information effectively both verbally and in writing engaging the interest and enthusiasm of the target audience.

Can plan manage and organise their own time.

Can work effectively in a team.


Key Responsibilities:

1.Work with the marketing manager to create and implement the annual marketing strategy and action plan for lead generation for courses and clinics.

2.Take lead responsibility for the Colleges social media strategy and output creating eyecatching appropriate inspirational content and advertisements for social media channels and blog. The quality of the content we create and of the data we collect is of key importance.

3.Create and run an outreach programme for the College.

4.Engage in PR opportunities.

5.Be an active and visible communicator within the College community including working with the Marketing and Admissions Manager on an alumni ambassadors scheme.

6.Respond on occasion to enquiries and update the enquiries database as necessary.

7.Create and maintain contacts databases.

8.Work with the marketing manager on website design prospectuses other publications and introductory days.

9.Work to specified performance indicators reporting regularly to the marketing manager and the marketing and recruitment working group.

10.Ensure all activities comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

11.Be responsive quickly and appropriately to enquiries opportunities and communications.

12.Represent the College at conferences and other external events.

13.Participate in Colleges performance review programme.

14.Assist at introductory events (up to four evenings and four Saturdays a year).


Job Type: Parttime 1830 hours per week worked over 35 days.

Hours of work: Flexible working hours with an element of homeworking (up to 50% WFH).

Salary Range: Level 1014:pro rata depending on qualifications and experience.

Reports to: Marketing Manager
