Graduate Electrical Engineer

We currently have an opportunity for a Graduate Electrical Engineer to join Modus (Part of the wider OCU Group) in Greenwich London.

Our twoyear development program has been designed to provide a diverse range of work experience and supported onthejob learning alongside your mentor coach and line manager. Flexibility in the individual will be key to gaining experience from across the national business locations and departments.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Undertaking cable sizing calculations.
• Produce cable route drawings single line diagrams and multicore block wiring diagrams and associated multi core wiring interface drawings.
• Specify electrical switchgear and its associated protection scheme transformers LV switchgear/fusegear and battery chargers.
• Undertaking the design of LV networks using the windebut Software.
• Undertaking the design of the small power and lighting required for a substation.
• Specify auxiliary equipment required for substations; eg sump pumps emergency tripping schemes.
• Assess manufacturers drawings to ensure compliance with the design produced.
• Liaise with equipment suppliers.
• Liaise with the DNOs regarding their requirements and specifications obtaining the information required to undertake the design.
• Produce Engineering and Design reports for each design.
• Provide assistance to the civil design team regarding the electrical aspects of the substation design.
• Efficiently programme and manage the delivery of your work.
• Provide financial control and reporting of projects.

Skills and Experience:

• You will either graduate in 2024 or have just completed a suitable masters or bachelors in a relevant engineering degree with a minimum grade of 2:2.
• Ability to integrate with existing team members.
• Have an understanding of renewable energy and/or transmission & distribution sectors.
• Basic knowledge of electrical design tools and software.
• Analytical and problemsolving skills.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and challenges.
• Selfreliance resourcefulness and initiative flexible approach and excellent time management.
