Purpose of the role
The main purpose of this role is to lead key organisational relationships at a senior level with sizable funders and/or funding segments ensuring satisfaction and engagement is high and that retention targets and corporate donation budgets are met. The role holder will play a lead role in identifying and collaboratively developing new partnership projects at scale to add value to funders and help achieve charitable objectives by successfully working with and through its funding base. The role will also be responsible for identifying and developing significant additional donation income and acquiring sizable new funders.
The role holder will have outstanding communication and relationship building skills and will be able to operate and influence at senior level. The role will effectively champion across a range of diverse stakeholders ensuring key partners are fully engaged that they understand the value of the charity and consider it to be one of their most important strategic partners.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
  • Develop and own senior relationships with key strategically important large funders/funder segments. Grow the company profile within these organisations ensure they understand the companys value and that engagement takes place at a sufficiently senior level.
  • Develop and maintain expertise as required in specific fundersegments e.g. supermarkets ontrade producers. Utilise this insight to understand industry trends funder perspectives and to ensure where appropriate company activities are successfully tailored.
  • Proactively work with funders and colleagues to scope develop and deliver large scale partnership/amplification projects that add value to funders and enable the company to achieve its objectives by working effectively with and through funders at scale.
  • Deliver significant new funder acquisition specifically targeting larger alcohol industry organisation s not currently funding. Develop and deploy compelling propositions to key individuals/organisation and achieve challenging new funder KPI s.
  • Research and business case opportunities to pursue wider sources of funding within and outside traditional alcohol industry. Liaise closely with the Head of Funding Partnerships and Head of Commercial Marketing and Product Development.
  • Ensure exemplary daytoday account management where funder expectations are continuously exceeded they understand the companys impact and consider their donations to be good value for money. Ensure all that funder retention targets are met.
  • Ensure a comprehensive strategic programme of funder communications takes place across the year working collaboratively with internal partners. Activity will include 121 sessions regular direct communications virtual and in person events roundtables etc.
  • Deputise for the Head of Funding Partnerships (HoFP) and represent the company where required conveying credibility expertise and gravitas to internal and external stakeholders alike.
  • Prepare high quality briefing notes business papers reports and financial information as required for the HoFP SLT CE and Board.

Accountable for:
This role will carry a significant annual donation income target from retained funders currently in the range of 23m per annum. In addition an annual acquisition target in excess of 100k.
This role will be the day to day and strategic lead contact for all aspects of funder engagement and whilst there is no direct line management responsibilities collaboration amongst the immediate BD&P and wider teams will be crucial to success.

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant professional experience.

  • Demonstrable experience of managing significant corporate partnerships and stakeholder relationships at a senior level.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading significant new customer acquisition at a senior level and achieving challenging new business income targets.
  • A strategic thinker able to research and develop key projects summarise insight concisely (verbally or in writing) recommend effective solutions and implement new activities.
  • Experience of leading pitches and presentations at senior level
  • Proven ability to influence close deals and deliver a range of challenging outcomes.
  • A selfstarter able to operate with minimal supervision who takes the initiative and drives projects to fruition.
  • Possesses excellent relationship building skills with the ability to cultivate and develop key partners.
  • Able to understand strategic aims translating these into effective operational plans.
  • Works positively within and across teams displaying a collaborative spirit.
  • Able to communicate in written and verbal format in highly effective manner.
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong ontime operational delivery.
  • Comfortable working in a target driven environment achieving challenging KPI s and financial objectives
  • Flexible comfortable handling change and operating in a target drive sometimes fast paced environment.
  • A personal commitment to reducing the risk of alcoholrelated harm.
