Under general supervision the Data Entry Clerk plays a crucial role in ensuring accurate data entry and maintaining associated records and reports. This position involves entering data into databases verifying information and collaborating with team members to uphold an efficient workflow.
Detailed Description
Key Responsibilities:
Review receive and input data and source documents into the departments database.
Sort and interpret source documents resolving discrepancies or missing data by communicating with relevant sources.
Maintain confidentiality while entering sensitive information using specialized software.
Enter data accurately following specific formatting and codes.
Verify entered data against source documents and make necessary corrections.
Compile sort and ensure the accuracy of entered data.
Assist in establishing and managing an effective records management system.
Support team efforts and contribute to achieving related goals.
Perform general clerical duties such as filing answering phones etc.
Contribute to special initiatives that may require occasional travel.
Fulfill any other assigned duties.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Two or more years of experience in data entry roles.
Proficiency in general clerical and office procedures.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions accurately.
Familiarity with nonkeyboard data entry methods like scanners and electronic file transmissions.
Strong problemsolving skills and ability to interpret workrelated materials.
Proficient in computer hardware software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
Excellent typing skills and superior computer literacy.
Education
High school or technical school graduation along with experience in data entry operations or equivalent combination of experience and training.
Certifications: None required.
Supervisory Responsibilities: No direct supervisory responsibilities.
Physical Demands
Requires standing talking hearing walking sitting and using fingers tools or controls.
Occasionally involves reaching stooping kneeling crouching or crawling.
Specific vision abilities including close vision adjusting focus and depth perception.
Occasional lifting or pushing up to 25 lbs.
Working Environment
Typical office environment.
