Today Vital Voices has a staff of nearly 80 headquartered in Washington DC. Weve recently been working to dramatically scale our impact in accordance with our bold vision. In early 2022 we opened the first ever Global Headquarters for Womens Leadership a 30000 sq. ft. historic building just blocks from the White House on 16th Street. It is a hub of activity events and collaborations — bringing together women leaders and their allies to tackle the worlds greatest challenges.

Summary

The intern will work directly under the supervision and guidance of the GNRE Program Coordinator. The Vital Voices team is seeking a motivated intern who will support the Global Network and Regional Engagement team our team focuses on applying regional expertise to programs across the organization as well as genderbased violence expertise through our work on Voices Against Violence. The GNRE program intern will contribute to multiple aspects of Vital Voices programs and initiatives to end genderbased violence through administrative logistical research and programmatic support. Preference is given for candidates based in Washington DC with the option of a hybrid work schedule. We will also consider remote candidates for this role.

• Assist in Stakeholder Coordination/Outreach;
• Assist in Partner Vetting;
• Event Planning;
• Regional Research;
• Programmatic support leading up to and following program implementation including data entry printing and compiling materials evaluating proposals and sorting survey results;
• Research support;
• Provision of general administrative and organizational support to the human rights team as needed;

Professional Qualifications:

Majoring in Business Administration International Studies/Relations/Affairs Hospitality or other relevant fields;

Strong demonstrated interest in global womens issues;

Excellent oral and written communications skills in English;

Ability to prioritize tasks swiftly shift priorities and work in a fastpaced environment with tight deadlines sometimes under difficult or challenging circumstances;

Ability to work independently and as part of a dynamic team;

Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and selfawareness;

Strong computer skills including MS Office applications (esp. Excel Word and PowerPoint) social networking tools and database software (i.e. Salesforce).

This position is a parttime stipendbased position based in Washington DC with preference given to candidates who can work a hybrid work schedule. Remote candidates will also be considered for this role.

The stipend for this 12week position is $1750 based on a 15hour work week and will be paid in 3 increments throughout the program. This role will begin on January 29th and run through April 20th 2024.
