Undertake design project from concept to completion.- Working to a brief which details what the space will be used for
- Inspecting and surveying buildings.
- Define project requirements and setting schedules for the project (during the brief ).
- Interpret and translate customer needs into rough plans.
- Developing detailed designs produce sample and mood products .
- Choose materials research and decide on materials and products sourcing.
- Review drawings materials and finish samples submitted by project contractors
- Develop product information packages including drawing specifications.
- Produce and coordinate architectural details elevations sections and plans
- Design selection and specifications of FF&E
- Supervise work progress as it is carried out.
- Work closely with architects engineers quantity surveyors and constructors.
- Research and follow industry changes evolutions and best practices.
- As well as advising clients as an interior designer you must work closely with other professionals. You may place orders with manufacturers and suppliers and supervise builders on site.

- Creativity and imagination.
- An interest in changing trends in design.
- Interest in the processes involved in architecture and construction.
- Confidence and selfdiscipline.
- Proven working experience in designing interior spaces (consultations renovations space planning and new constructions)
- Expertise in layout colour lighting materials selection custom furniture and all installations.
- An eye for design including color and good 3D awareness proficient in AutoCAD Sketch Up 3D Max Illustrator or other design programs
- Excellent portfolio of previous works
- Creative talent imagination and eye for design as well as good drawing skills.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
- Presentation skills the ability to visualize concepts and explain them to others.
- Organizational skills to ensure each project is completed on time and within budgeT
- Awareness of technical building issues and the range of relevant products and materials
- Project management skills
- BS degree in Interior Design or similar
- A driving licence may be useful.
