This exciting and flexible role involves working within Empowers highly regarded community outreach team covering Somerset Devon and Bristol. You will be supporting children families and carers within the community and in times of crisis supporting with daily routines providing mentor support and helping young people and families to work through challenges faced.

By joining our bank you can also choose to work/ cover shifts in our Childrens Homes and support our Foster Carers too allowing you to experience a variety of different support roles and times and locations you choose.

This role is exciting and varied you may be helping a baby or family in hospital conducting supervised contact or supporting a young person build their confidence.

If you are looking for a more flexible working pattern want to earn while you learn or simply help boost your income for Christmas.. or perhaps you are saving up for a holiday then this is the perfect job for you to do that. You can work hours that fit around your current commitments or even pick up some additional shifts to your main role to earn some extra cash.

We need resilient and passionate individuals who are adaptable and team players. To do this role you need to be kind and compassionate but also not afraid of a challenge.

To make sure our children young people and families are well cared for and supported it s important that you have worked with or have some experience of caring for children and or young people before. However don t worry we dont expect you to know everything our team are friendly and supportive and will be with you every step of the way. Your first shift can be a shadow shift too.

Our Bank roles are communitybased roles which means you ll need to travel around to spend time with children young people and their carers or visiting the office. Therefore being able to drive and having access to a car is really helpful! (we pay your expenses to cover the use for any mileage you have incurred when working so dont worry)

Because our roles involve direct work with very vulnerable children and young people when you join you ll need to have an Enhanced Check with the Disclosure and Barring Service. However dont worry about the cost of this because unlike other providers well pay for this if you don t have a transferable one! We also pay for all your training too! Yipee.

This role is subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks. The successful candidate will be required to pay upfront for their enhanced DBS check this will be refunded once the applicant has completed 100 paid hours of work.
