Patient Choice is an independent Dispensing Appliance contractor for NHS prescriptions. Our aim is to ensure that all prescribed appliances and accessories are not only right for every patient but also offer the best deal for the NHS. We also apply the same philosophy to medical appliances available for purchase with a mission to offer patients better choice and better service.

We work across specialist areas of healthcare delivering medical appliances to patients homes discreetly and quickly either via prescription or ecommerce. We aim to make a positive difference to all those who engage with us.

Job
Summary: In this newly created role as Head of Operations part of the Patient Choice senior management team. You will play a pivotal role in overseeing and improving the efficiency of our distribution processes. You will be responsible for managing the daytoday operations implementing best practices and ensuring that our distribution operations run smoothly efficiently and in alignment with the companys goals and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Operational Leadership:

    • Lead mentor and inspire a diverse team in various departments including warehouse logistics and inventory control.
    • Set clear goals and objectives for the operations team aligning them with our strategic objectives.
    • Alignment with the companys core values and competencies.

    2. Process Optimisation:

    • Continuously assess and refine operational processes to improve efficiency reduce costs and enhance productivity.
    • Identify and implement innovative solutions and automation to streamline workflows.

    3. Inventory Management:

      • Oversee inventory control ensuring accurate tracking and implementing inventory control processes.
      • Working with the purchasing team to implement strategies to optimise inventory turnover and reduce holding costs.

      4. Supply Chain and Logistics:

        • Manage the logistics and supply chain functions including transportation freight and vendor/service relationships.
        • Optimise delivery methods and distribution channels for costeffective and timely delivery.
        • Take responsibility for facilities management across the site.

        5. Quality Assurance:

          • Develop and maintain quality control standards to ensure the accuracy and condition of products during distribution.
          • Address quality issues promptly and implement corrective actions.

          6. Budget and Cost Management:

            • Develop and manage the operations budget monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
            • Implement costeffective strategies without compromising quality and service.

            7. Compliance and Safety:

              • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements including health and safety standards environmental regulations and import/export laws.
              • Promote a culture of safety and adherence to best practices.

              8. Reporting and Analysis:

                • Generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations and provide regular updates.
                • Analyse data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.

                Experience Skills and Qualifications Required:

                1. Proven experience in operations management within a distribution or logistics company.
                2. Strong leadership and team management skills with the ability to effectively delegate drive change and foster a collaborative work environment.
                3. Ability to coach and develop teams and colleagues driving performance improvement.
                4. Demonstrated expertise in creating and implementing strategic plans to enhance business performance. Excellent problemsolving decisionmaking and analytical skills.
                5. Familiarity with inventory management systems and supply chain software.
                6. Strong communication written and oral as well as strong interpersonal skills.
                7. Sound knowledge of warehouse industry best practices and emerging trends.
                8. Excellent knowledge of information systems including MS package and ERP
                9. Ability to manage safe working procedures and health and safety best practice.
