Job Description:
A leading healthcare organization is seeking an experienced Director of Pharmacy to support and lead pharmacy operations in a Level 1 trauma and teaching hospital.
This individual will oversee pharmacy services for Adult Childrens Heart and Vascular Cancer Center Infusion Center and various outpatient pharmacy services. Academic medical center experience is essential and the role involves managing three Directors overseeing Childrens Hospital Ambulatory and Inpatient pharmacies.
Accountabilities:
- Evaluate operations and implement continuous process improvement.
- Ensure competent delivery of pharmaceutical services.
- Identify and address staffing needs.
- Develop annual implementation plans aligned with organizational strategic objectives.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget.
- Serve as a positive role model to staff with a focus on customer service.
- Stay informed on healthcare developments and comply with regulatory agencies.
- Participate in hospital quality improvement teams and committees.
- Ensure safe patient care staff adherence to policies and standards within budgetary specifications.
- Promote professional growth and development of staff.
Requirements
MustHaves:
- Doctorate degree in Pharmacy; Texas License in Pharmacy; Masters degree highly desired.
- Pharmacy leadership experience within a healthcare organization similar to a prominent teaching hospital.
- Title: Director of Pharmacy operating as an Administrative Director with experience leading multiple teams in a hospital environment.
- Minimum 5 years of experience as a Director/Regional Director in an Inpatient Pharmacy in a hospital setting.
- Experience with strategic planning quality improvement and cost savings initiatives.
NiceToHaves:
- Experience with inpatient and outpatient pharmacies.
- Experience with adult and pediatric patient populations.
- Residency is highly desired.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelors degree in Pharmacy Masters degree highly desired and Doctorate of Pharmacy preferred.
- Licenses/Certifications: Licensed by the Texas State Board of Pharmacy.
- Experience: Five (5) years of experience in a hospital pharmacy.
Strategic Leadership: Proven ability to develop and implement strategic plans, contributing to organizational objectives. Effectively lead teams in a hospital environment, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and collaboration. Operational Efficiency: Strong analytical skills to evaluate operations continuously and implement process improvements. Experience in budget management, cost reduction, and forecasting operational needs. Communication and Stakeholder Engagement: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate with staff, physicians, and other stakeholders. Promote staff ownership in problem-solving and operational decision-making. Pharmaceutical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of pharmaceutical services and the delivery of drug-related information in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Stay up-to-date on industry developments, incorporating innovative systems while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
