Job Description

One of our esteemed clients in the Oil and Gas industry is currently seeking a HR Supervisor to be based in Cairo Egypt.

Job Overview

Provides operational support to managers to meet business needs ensures adherence to HR policies and procedures and manages the administration of HR activities within area of responsibility.

Key Responsibilites

  • Assist with input to enable the development of appropriate People Strategies for the area of responsibility to support short and long term business objectives. Assist to develop HR strategy and objectives in line with plan.
  • Provide input to workforce plans and uses this information to create recruitment plans for area of responsibility; may provide information for the annual budget/business planning process.
  • Ensure that all policies and procedures comply with legislative requirements in area of responsibility and include best practice where possible. Ensure any such policies and procedures comply with Group policies standards and processes.
  • Ensure that all agreements contracts handbooks and other employment documentation are current and comply with current legislation. Ensure processes are in place and understood to comply with work permit visas and other relevant documentation requirements prior to commencement of employment by new hire / transferee.
  • Provide training and guidance on the Performance Management process to managers and employees and assists managers to develop Succession Plans including the identification of required management / key skills training.
  • Advise managers to ensure salaries and benefits are in line with competitive practice and cost containment. Ensure reward is linked to business success and drives business performance. Participate in salary / benefit surveys. May coordinate the annual review process and annual incentive scheme process for area of responsibility. May be involved in union or workplace council negotiations or meetings.
  • Ensure best use of HR Information Systems (HRIS) to provide meaningful data to assist with management decision making. Ensure support in place to carry out accurate and timely input to the HRIS.
  • Advise managers on discipline grievance performance redundancy severance and capability issues and ensures appropriate procedures are followed.
  • Make regular country/base/facility visits to build and improve relationships with managers and employees and to monitor customer satisfaction with HR performance. Make presentations and provide training for managers and/or employees on HR related subjects where necessary and appropriate.
  • May liaise with relevant industry/HR external groups as necessary.
  • In certain locations may be required to participate in an oncall rota providing HR support in emergency situations.
  • Actively adhere to the Code of Conduct and AntiBribery policies procedures and processes to ensure the highest ethical standards are maintained and exposure to liability or risk to the companys reputation is minimized. Provide leadership in all ethical issues; ensure employees are aware of the companys compliance requirements and feel able to report possible violations or conflicts of interest.
  • Actively adhere to and ensure compliance with applicable Quality policies procedures processes & systems. Take an active part in quality improvement processes. Act on reported deficiencies and approve deviations from standard procedures as appropriate.
  • Ensure that employees adhere to and comply with all applicable Health Safety & Environmental (HSE) policies procedures and processes. Provide leadership in HSE; encourage employees to take responsibility and be accountable for their own and others safety and provide an environment where they feel authorized to stop any unsafe job. Ensure that all incidents and nonconformances are reported in line with the appropriate procedures and deadlines; ensure that all incidents are investigated and corrective actions raised as required; where appropriate participates in incident investigations.
  • Supervise mentor and coach direct reports and ensure completion of their Employee Development Plans. Where applicable ensure that training and competency programs are in place to facilitate the mentoring of subordinates through the competency system. Conduct competency assessments when required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Business Administration or a related field.
  • 8 years experience including supervisory role experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Proficient in MS Excel and MS Word
