ACRUX Search are currently sourcing an experienced Project Geologist to join one of our reputable ASXlisted clients within the gold mining and exploration space in Western Australia.

You will be joining a team of professionals within their Goldfields Operations which is going through an exciting transition with a new open pit operation beginning in the coming months. Your role will be providing accurate delineation and extraction of defined economic mineralisation using rigorous production/grade control methods and assist with nearmine and company wide exploration to locate additions to the ore reserve while ensuring adherence to all statutory requirements and Company Safety Health and Environmental standards and procedures.



Key responsibilities are but not limited to:
  • Supervision of ore mark out and ore extraction to minimise dilution and maximise recovery.
  • Assist the Senior Mine Geologist in compilation of weekly monthly and annual reports.
  • Supervision and training of Graduate Geologists Pit Technicians and drilling contractors.
  • Ensure accurate geological logging of grade control and resource definition drillholes and all sampling and associated data management is conducted to the required standard
  • Update grade control models and produce dig block designs and associated documentation using Surpac and Leapfrog
  • Monitor QA/QC of sampling and assaying and maintain databases in line with JORC requirements
  • Monitor grade and bulk density assumptions with regular check samples.
  • Map geological features within the pit and compile maps.
  • Maintain a high levels of communication between geological personnel engineers surveyors and mining personnel on site.
  • Design and document grade control and nearmine exploration programmes to accurately delineate the ore body ahead of mining.
  • Assist with the creation of and appropriate execution of mining plans
  • Resource Modelling and Resource updates on a variety of different deposits
  • Preparation of external reports including Tenement Expenditure reports and PoW requests
  • Assist in compilation of pit closure reports.
  • Fill in for Senior Open Pit Geologist as required.
  • Comply with WA Mines Regulations.
  • Promote a safe healthy and productive work environment.
  • Fulfill other duties as required by management and other department personnel as requested/required.
  • Actively Promote core values of the business Safety Ownership Adaptability Reliability


Requirements

  • At Least 3 years Geology experience with 2 years minimum in a production environment
  • Degree in Geology
  • Experience working on Resources and Wireframing
  • Experience on orogenic gold deposits preferably within the Eastern Goldfields
  • Extensive experience on mining software packages preferably Surpac and Leapfrog
  • Ability to work unsupervised and use initiative
  • Ability to engage with the geology team and provide a mentoring role
  • Ability to work respectfully with others to achieve project goals
  • Right to work in Australia
  • Manual C class licence
  • Ability to obtain police clearance and pass a medical
