Seeking a Licensed Electrical Engineer with building design experience for a firm that works with clients across the United States to combat the affordable housing crisis by reimagining construction with worldclass innovation. They define success by constructability and achieve it through highly coordinated BIM models and a carefully executed quality control plan. A successful applicant must have experience in conventional and modular construction and be critical focused and accountable. Most importantly they should be assertive and reliable.

This position offers versatile work arrangements including options for inoffice locations in Nampa Idaho and Fort Worth Texas. For candidates residing outside these areas this position offers the flexibility to work remotely from anywhere in the United States with the expectation of periodic onsite visits to the Nampa Idaho office. The role reports to the Nampa Idaho office allowing for a combination of remote and inoffice work as needed.

This position will be in their Nampa Idaho office.

As a member of our electrical team you would contribute to our mission by:

  • Perform engineering calculations / analysis for electrical systems
  • Review and coordinate the design intent with the modeling team and consultants
  • Review and respond to RFIs and submittals
  • Review and coordinate issues and comments with the design team consultants and stakeholders during schematic design design development and construction documentation
  • Review project / code specifications in conformance with modular / client requirements
  • Design electrical systems that are centric to design for manufacturing and assembly processes
  • Coordinate asbuilt conditions with our manufacturing partners and the design team as well
  • Direct and coordinate manufacturing or assembly of mechanical equipment and drafting as needed
  • Edit and oversee the preparation of operating manuals for designed equipment and systems
  • Improve existing designs and prepare engineering change notices (ECN) documenting changes to existing drawings and documentation
  • Prepare bills of material (BOM) for new assemblies and coordinate the detailing of new parts and assemblies in drafting
  • Perform other Engineering Department related functions as assigned by the Operations / General managers
  • Collaborate with the design team to review installation design specifications of equipment

Language and Communication Skills:

Ability to read analyze and interpret: technical literature professional journals technical procedures manufacturer s specifications and/or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers coworkers and customers.



Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from an ABETaccredited university.
  • Professional Engineering (PE) license.
  • Will consider candidates with an Engineer in Training (EIT) certification provided they demonstrate the ability and commitment to obtain their Professional Engineering (PE) license within the first six months of employment.
  • 4 years of building design experience.
  • Proficiency with Revit and Bluebeam.
  • Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently.
  • Strong understanding and knowledge of industry codes including the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) National Fire Alarm and Signaling Code (NFPA 72) Life Safety Code (NFPA 101) International Building Code (IBC) and IEEE Standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working knowledge of fire alarm design and installation.
  • Modular construction experience.
  • Experience managing two or more people on a project team.
  • Experience reviewing submittals and responding to construction administration requests for information.
  • Understanding of California Building Energy Efficiency Standards.

  • Comprehensive knowledge and multidiscipline experience in planning designing and constructing largescale projects.
  • Strong selfleadership and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to interact with employees at all levels effectively persuasively and tactfully.

  • Ability to be a flexible team player and adapt to changing requirements.
