Downstream Specialist - KZN

A prestigious leader in the packaging sector has a vacancy for a Downstream Specialist. This position will report to the Production Manager and is based in Pinetown Durban. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing downstream processes to ensure quality product output and play a key role in maintaining equipment driving continuous improvement and ensuring a safe work environment. TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensuring that all downstream processes are functioning correctly.
  
• Ensure that equipment is maintained to a high standard to delivery required output.
  
• Drive continuous improvement to improve overall efficiency of the department
  
• Ensuring top quality products are produced
  
• Practicing a high standard of housekeeping and safety
  
• Any other duties reasonably requested by supervisor or other
  
• Prepared to work overtime when required
  

Requirements

• N3 (mechanical or electrical) as a minimum (N4 or higher preferred)
  
• Mechanical/Technical aptitude
  
• At least 3 years of work experience in production and/or manufacturing (FMCG or similar)
  
• Experience in the setup of labelers and cameras is essential.
  
• Exposure to Injection or blow moulding is advantageous
  
• Setting and/or Mechanical experience in production is essential
