Greater Talent Group has an exciting opportunity for a Controller to join a dynamic and driven team at a Family Office HQ in Austin Texas

The Controller will be responsible for working closely with the property operation teams
for the daytoday accounting functions and full cycle accounting for the properties including journal
entries bank reconciliations financial statement preparation ownership reporting and cash disbursements This position will also support accounting functions of the management company

Job responsibilities include
  • Prepare timely monthly/quarterly/annual financial statements and management reports for multifamily properties and management company on a GAAP accrual basis
  • Manage financial statements and tracking for investment SPVs for public and alternative portfolios
  • Help operations with variance analysis for month to date and year to date actual to budget for revenue expense and capital accounts
  • Record loan and equity partnership transactions
  • Help ensure debt payments are made and assist with lender covenant reporting
  • Record and manage A/R A/P and intercompany transactions including management fees insurance and payroll
  • Tax/Insurance Monthly/Quarterly/Annual reconciliations and billings
  • Reconciliations of bank accounts subsidiary ledgers to general ledger and balance sheet accounts
  • Assist with providing data to tax preparers and ensure reporting deadlines are met
  • Assist with core financial planning activities including budgeting forecasting and prepare highlights for monthly management reporting
  • Support short and longterm cash flow forecasting
  • Preparation of ad hoc management reports as requested
  • Work closely with the CFO to develop and ensure adherence to internal controls including policies and procedures to ensure continued reliability of the accounting and financial reporting system

Expertise
  • Candidates should have three years or more of accounting experience
  • Proven work experience as a Senior Accountant controller or similar role
  • Real estate and partnership accounting experience preferred
  • Seeking a dedicated and selfmotivated &ldquoget it done&rdquo champion
  • Handson experience with QuickBooks Appfolio or comparable accounting software
  • Expertise in MS Excel (creating spreadsheets and using formulas)
  • Strong understanding of GAAP
  • Hungry to learn understand and own workflows
  • Collegial personality and strong communication skills ability to effectively communicate key data to senior management and operating partners
  • Confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information
  • Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting Finance or Economics
  • CPA required
