LOCATION: Axis, AL

POSITION PURPOSE

This position is responsible for the development and support of assigned applications. This also includes program documentation, systems operating instructions, application user guides(s) and test plans in accordance with company standards and methodologies. The position typically works with other IT team members but may also work with business end users to gather requirements, provide training, or resolve issues.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Business Impact

• Actions have a positive impact on both short term and long term results significant to a business unit or operating group including providing the customer with a consistent positive experience
• Responsible for reporting accurate project time and status utilizing SSAB s systems such as Efecte
• Responsible for participating in projects that increase the Americas ROI either through cost savings or increased revenue.

Problem Solving

• Responsible for analyzing data and drawing conclusions to troubleshoot and resolve break/fix issues in a timely manner
• Responsible for taking ownership or escalating issues or activities, even when transferring to another area of responsibility.
• Participates in the development of new applications and interfaces to existing systems as well as supporting existing systems ensuring systems are robust and highly available.

Job Knowledge & Skills

• Works with the project team to develop well defined business and functional specification.
• Works with the project team to understand and map current business processes and identify future business processes based on user requirements, technical expertise and business knowledge.
• Begin to learn and understand SSAB s user processes and policies and act as a user on the assigned applications.
• Begin to master SSAB s preferred IT processes and techniques for design, development, testing and documentation.

Leadership & Teamwork

• Ability to work within a high performing team environment.
• Accountable for own work & deadlines
• Works/coordinates with other team members to resolve issues or complete project tasks

Communication Skills

• Good oral, written and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to make informal presentations to internal audiences using PowerPoint (or similar tools)
• Build the skills to be able to provide initial user training including user documentation and training materials.
• Responsible for providing their manager with weekly status updates as well as escalate issues when necessary.
• Able to communicate effectively with team members and users.

QUALIFICATIONS

Competencies and Experience

Required:

• 2 3 years experience working in the following application environments:

Visual Studio / .Net

ASP.Net

C#

MVC

• Experience in:

Web Application Development

SQL Server

Windows Forms Applications Development

.Net Framework

• Strong problem-solving and trouble-shooting skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to multi-task in a relatively small team environment

Preferred:

• Microsoft Reporting Services
• Microsoft SQL Server Integrated Services
• Microsoft Workflow Foundation
• Defining business and functional requirements
• Development of test cases
• Microsoft Azure DevOps
• Robotics Process Automation
• Infragistics controls

Education

Required:

• Bachelor s Degree or equivalent experience

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK/TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

• Position is full time, exempt
• On call availability for deployments, critical break/fix issues, and month end processing as required.
• Extended hours including evenings and weekends may be required to meet project deadlines or provide services outside normal operating hours.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally if required for support role.
• Travel 25% of time in the field, at customer s sites, other SSAB locations
