Job Description

We have signed recently EPC Contracts for two “100 MW dual-fuel generation asset Power Plant” projects. Each project will consist of five (5) gas reciprocating engines exporting power to the grid via an adjacent 110 kV connection. The Projects will use natural gas as its primary fuel with gas oil as a back-up in the event of interruption to the gas supply.
The projects (Profile Park and Athlone) are owned by Greener Ideas Ltd., which is a subsidiary of Bord Gais (Centrica Business Solutions) and Mountside Properties Ltd.
  • Technical Contracts Administrator will be responsible for the engineering study of projects, inventorying quantities, and writing tenders, in addition to following up on all daily activities related to technical supervision of projects and quality control of work to ensure their compliance with the approved technical and contractual standards, under the direct supervision of the Technical Office Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Post commercial and contractual administration of subcontracts including drafting site related letters to subcontractors
  • Organization of scope changes of the contracts, preparation of variation orders, contract amendments.
  • Making progress reports (weekly - monthly) for the implemented projects to the concerned department.
  • Participating in the work of tenders, designing and calculating quantities for projects, and fully familiar with the construction market.
  • The ability to work with contractors and coordinate the work between the organization and the contractor.
  • Monitoring of the subcontractors’ progress and evaluating and correcting monthly payment applications of the subcontractors as per construction drawings and contractual terms and conditions
  • Attending to site progress meetings and preparing minutes of meetings
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A Bachelor’s degree in civil/Mechanical or Electrical engineering (with 5-7 years of experience in technical office).
  • Computer proficiency: AutoCAD, Power Point, Word, and Excel are a must. Procore or similar programs is an asset.
  • Professional English language.
  • Proven experience with technical drawings and details.
  • Extensive knowledge of preparing BOQs (in English language) including quantity surveys.
  • Strong technical knowledge of civil, structure & electro-mechanical design concepts and strong coordination skills.
  • Knowledge of design standards, local codes, and government regulations.
  • Possession of great work ethic, high degree of integrity, and willingness to put in the hours whenever needed.
  • High organization skills and ability to prioritize.
  • Ability to manage own time.
  • Critical thinking uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • A good eye for details.
  • Ability to work & perform under pressure.
  • Interpersonal skills and effectively communicating with clients, consultants, contractors, suppliers, and other team members.
