We are a rapidly expanding company and have an open position for an experienced plumber. We fabricate shipping containers and modify them into various office, storage, residential, and commercial uses. All work is done on site at our facility. This position deals with the proper layout, fitting, and installation of various plumbing materials structures according to specifications and regulations. Ability to read blueprints and follow plan specifications required.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Calculate specific type and amount of materials needed based on blueprint requirements.
- Layout, cut, and install plumbing materials according to specifications.
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds at a time.
- Must be able to squat, lift, stretch, and bend in order to reach all areas of the facility.
- Ensures tools and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, and maintained for optimum performance and safety.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a plumber.
- Hands-on experience in working with plumbing materials.
- Excellent understanding of plumbing techniques and methods of installation.
- Proficient in using electrical / manual equipment and measurement tools (powered saws, drills, etc.).
- Ability to read technical documents and drawings.
- Ability to take accurate measurements and calculations.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
- Willingness to follow safety guidelines at all times.
- Good knowledge of English and basic math.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of formal apprenticeship program or equivalent training and experience.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing, bending, stooping, and reaching.
- Must have a full range of physical motion as required to properly operate manual and electric power tools.
- Must have balance necessary to traverse and work on scaffolding and roofs.
- Will work in a variety of environments and weather with exposure to dust, fumes, and chemicals in both indoor and outdoor construction and carpentry.
- Must be able to regularly lift and carry 50 pounds and 100 pounds occasionally.
