Requirements

Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with disabilities, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Assess students strengths and weaknesses to identify specific learning goals and design appropriate instructional strategies.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Utilize assistive technologies and adaptive equipment to enhance student learning and independence.
- Monitor and assess student progress, adjusting instruction as needed to ensure educational goals are met.

Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree required.
- Valid PA state teaching certification in Special Education.
- Experience working with students with a range of disabilities, such as learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, emotional/behavioral disorders, and intellectual disabilities.
- Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.

They will also foster professional friendships with faculty and staff, seek collaborative relationships with parents, and mentor students in the pursuit of their own flourishing. Conduct occupational therapy assessments and interpret results to support student learning. Participate in IEP meetings, MTSS meetings, and other staff or department meetings. Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services to students in individual or group settings, per IEP requirements. Create goals and objectives for students to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to design and implement appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. Maintain student records and submit information/records, including student progress, as needed to support students and adhere to IEP regulations.
