Essential Duties & Responsibilities of the Transportation Engineer includeAbility to manage and provide technical expertise in the following technical areas Traffic Engineering experience with a focus on ITS Design Electrical Design Design of traffic control devices specifically ITS guide signs regulatory signs warning signs pavement markings delineation channelizing and roadside devices Assist in the design and development of roadwork plans for highway roadway interchange and drainage projects using Micro Station Assist in the design of traffic signal/electrical plans and intersection and highway lighting systems Perform intersection and roadway capacity analyses using HCS Synchro and SimTraffic software

Requirements

• Working knowledge of the Highway Capacity Manual (HCM) Synchro MUTCD ITE Traffic Engineering Handbook ITE Parking Generation ITE Trip Generation and AASHTO
  
• BS/MS degree in Civil Engineering
  
• Registered Professional Engineer in NY a plus
  
• years of experience in ITS/Electrical design highway geometric design traffic analysis and traffic signal design or closely related engineering field
  
• NYC Metropolitan Experience is highly preferred
  
• Experience with NYSDOT Standards
  
• MicroStation Vi experience with Bentley InRoads a plus
  
• Knowledge of GuidSIGN or AutoTURN a plus
