LITIGATION ASSOCIATE - Multiple Locations (SF, LA, Orange County, Silicon Valley)

Description:

The firm seeks highly qualified associates with a minimum of three years of litigation experience to join our renowned litigation practice. Our Trial, White Collar, and Investigations Business Unit handle a diverse range of complex disputes, from pretrial resolution to trial, covering various areas such as business and commercial litigation, white-collar defense and investigations, consumer protection and advertising, employment, entertainment, financial services litigation, health care litigation, intellectual property, patent litigation, and privacy and data security, among others. Our litigators collaboratively work across offices and industry sectors.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct legal research, handle discovery, take and defend depositions, conduct witness interviews.
  • Draft pleadings, write briefs, prepare and argue motions, and prepare for trial.
  • Collaborate across offices and industry sectors.


Requirements


  • A minimum of three years of solid litigation experience, preferably with some commercial litigation, trial, or white-collar investigations experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and advocacy skills.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • A self-starter with the ability to manage multiple diverse projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent team player skills with the ability to work with multidisciplinary teams and collaborate across the firms capabilities and practice areas.
  • Effective problem-solving capabilities, working independently and proactively to develop creative solutions.
  • California Bar membership in good standing.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Superior intellect and quick grasp of complex legal issues, as evidenced by superior grades in law school and/or work experience in similar settings. Strong work ethic and willingness to work as needed to get any task done. Good organizational and project management skills. Proficient in the use of on-line legal research services and legal resources. Superior legal writing skills. Excellent oral communication. Must have sound judgment. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Demonstrates expertise in a variety of the field s concepts, practices, and procedures. Ability to work collaboratively and as a member of a team with internal and external contacts. Ability to adapt to a changing environment and situations. Proven willingness to work hard in a fast-paced atmosphere. Experience with use of document/discovery databases (e.g. Relativity). EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND/OR TRAINING Must be a graduate of an accredited law school. Admitted to practice law in the State of Michigan or ability to obtain admission upon commencement of employment.
