Dentolo is one of the fastest-growing insurance start-ups in Europe and you will work together with us on providing the digital backbone of our insurance platform.

Your work will range from customer-focused development to workflow automation and internal tools to help our team and customers have a seamless experience

Your Role in our team

• You will build, improve and maintain our insurance platform, making sure it's easy to use, and provides the best experience to our customers.
• You will help us improve the design and architecture of the platform.
• You will work closely with multiple teams to determine requirements and find the best technical implementations.

What you need to be successful:

• 5+ years of experience in developing software using Ruby on Rails
• Knowledge of GIT as a version control system
• Experience in building RESTful APIs (GraphQL is a plus)
• You know what SOLID, DRY, and KISS mean and understand how to use them
• Experience with AWS or other cloud providers
• You are a team player and like helping your teammates
• You pay attention to details, keep your code clean and tidy
• You contribute to a good and agile development environment
• You have great spoken and written English skills
• You are located in Germany, ideally in Berlin

Experience in these areas will be a plus

• Knowledge of container technology (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience in scaling and refactoring monolithic Ruby on Rails applications
• Experience in designing and developing microservices.
• Domain-Driven Design architecture
• Test-driven development
• Experience with Elixir
• Building and maintaining AWS infrastructure using container technology

Technologies we use

• Back-end: Ruby, Ruby on Rails, Hanami, Sidekiq, and many other open-source libraries. We also use Elixir
• Front-end: React, Redux, SASS, GraphQL
• Databases: PostgreSQL and Redis (Yes, yes, we know. Redis is key-value storage, not a regular database)
• Agile development tools: Github, ZenHub, Slack, CodeShip
• Cloud infrastructure: AWS, Heroku
