Basic Job Summary:
To manage the receiving, drying, storage and distribution of grains. To supervise crews and teams that receive, dry, store, and distribute grains.
Job Responsibilities:
- Lead the grain terminal receiving and storage staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the facility.
- Ensure safe working conditions for all associates.
- Ensure service and equity of grades is provided to both internal and external customers.
- Ensure the condition of grain is maintained and/or improved while in storage.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of crews and teams that receive, dry, store, and distribute grain.
- Coordinate and direct the activities of crews and teams that perform housekeeping activities.
- Ensure routine and preventative maintenance is performed on all receiving and storage equipment to ensure maximum availability and longevity.
- Coordinate with grain merchandising to ensure positive customer relationships and timely and least cost movement of grain.
- Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
Education & Experience Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Logistics or Business, OR Equivalent work experience.
- Knowledge of grain receiving and storage technologies.
- Understanding of standard software applications.
- Understanding of commodity markets.
- Minimum of 3-5 years grain experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements:
- Able to move freely throughout the facilities
- Able to climb vertical heights (0-150)
- Able to carry tools and equipment (0-50lb)
- Exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, and chemicals
- Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus
- Some travel required
