Grain Terminal Production Supervisor

Basic Job Summary:

To manage the receiving, drying, storage and distribution of grains. To supervise crews and teams that receive, dry, store, and distribute grains.

Job Responsibilities:

• Lead the grain terminal receiving and storage staff to include hiring, training, and developing the staff to meet the needs of the facility.
  
• Ensure safe working conditions for all associates.
  
• Ensure service and equity of grades is provided to both internal and external customers.
  
• Ensure the condition of grain is maintained and/or improved while in storage.
  
• Coordinate and direct the activities of crews and teams that receive, dry, store, and distribute grain.
  
• Coordinate and direct the activities of crews and teams that perform housekeeping activities.
  
• Ensure routine and preventative maintenance is performed on all receiving and storage equipment to ensure maximum availability and longevity.
  
• Coordinate with grain merchandising to ensure positive customer relationships and timely and least cost movement of grain.
  
• Perform other tasks as directed by supervisor.
  

Requirements

Education & Experience Requirements:

• Bachelors Degree in Agriculture, Logistics or Business, OR Equivalent work experience.
  
• Knowledge of grain receiving and storage technologies.
  
• Understanding of standard software applications.
  
• Understanding of commodity markets.
  
• Minimum of 3-5 years grain experience.
  
• Minimum of 1-2 years of supervisory experience.
  

Environmental Factors & Physical Requirements:

• Able to move freely throughout the facilities
  
• Able to climb vertical heights (0-150)
  
• Able to carry tools and equipment (0-50lb)
  
• Exposure to extreme temperatures, humidity, noise, and chemicals
  
• Must be able to wear protective equipment to include self-contained breathing apparatus
  
• Some travel required
