pTo install commission customers fire alarm systems and associated equipment in line with the current regulations liaising with the Works departmentProject Managers to ensure best practice and the most costeffective solution To support other engineers to ensure that they are competent to complete the work allocated to them and follow all Company and Health and Safety practices and procedures To work as a team with colleagues and the Engineering team to build on the companys reputation in quality and customer servicephPrincipal Responsibilitieshul liUndertake the commissioning of fire detection and other associated systems provided that adequate training has been received to be competent in the associated products to ensure that the system meets the specified requirements for the projectliulul liLiaise at all times with the Project engineermanager responsible for the delivery of the projectli liCarry out all other necessary works required at customer premises in accordance with the Companys quality standardsli liEffectively communicate with customers to ensure a good understanding of system and site status particularly system defects that affect its correct functionli liProvide technical support and guidance to allocated Engineersli liLiaise with the administrators to ensure commitments are met diary li liCompetence to review a programme of works and RAMs li liEnsure legible and own timely completion of all company paperwork in line with Company requirements as well as the paperwork of allocated engineersli liAbility to review a cause & effects matrix and implement programming around thatli liAbility to review and spec from the client and build a C&E matrixli liWork with the Line Manager to ensure Engineering Department runs smoothly liulul liThe ability to be to demonstrate to the client and line manager all cause & effects programming via software and live testsli liPlan own work if required and also carry out minor additions to existing installations in line with a line managers instructionli liBe responsible for the management and security of own equipment stock in an efficient and economical manner by determining stock levels in relation to work activities and ordering stock items as and when appropriateli liOperate in accordance with the Company Handbook and all Company and customers quality standards and health and safety requirementsli liPass on any potential leads for further business to the relevant Sales Managerli liDiscuss any suggestions for system improvement with your line Managerli liAttend training sessions identified by the Company and identify and communicate to your line manager any personal training and development needsliulhstrongAccountable forstronghul liLeaving customers with fully functioning fire detection and alarm systems unless your line managerCustomer has been informed of the reasons that completion is not possible before leaving the premisesli liAll own documentation is completed and reaches the required destinations within agreed time limitsli liEnsuring that customers are always satisfied with your workliulhstrongScope of Financial Authoritystronghh hul liTo arrange orders and collect goods up to a value of when necessary to complete works in the due timeli liTo maximise overhead recovery and reduce costsli liTo organise and feedback information to increase cost as installed drawings tally with the finished project and communicate any variances to the Project Managerli liAble to fully test every aspect of the installed system in line with manufacturers recommendations and the project specificationliulul liAble to identify all types of cable associated with fire detection and alarm systems and to correctly test and terminate the cable ends in accordance with manufacturers instructionsli liAble to develop and diagnose Cause and Effect software for the relevant control equipment and to plan a full C & E test as part of the Commissioning processli liAble to operate all required test equipment li liDemonstrates a logical approach to system fault diagnosis and rectificationli liUnderstands different types of cable containment systemsli liDeals with customers endusers construction personnel and inhouse staff in a professional mannerli liVerbal and written communication skillsli liHigh level of ability in the use of bespoke manufacturers Software programmes and Windows based Computer usageliulpstrongTechnical knowledgestrongpul liHas a sound knowledge of control and field equipment and be able to carry out commissioning fault rectification and repairsli liUnderstands the basic building service systems eg air conditioning ventilation systemsli liHas a comprehensive understanding of the causes and cures of fire alarm problems including an ability to recommend changes to practices and processes that may cause false alarms as well as changes to the fire detection and alarm systemli liCompleted numerous units of FIA li liManufacturer trained for whatever equipment expected to operateli liAll conventional fire alarm systemsli liIdeally a qualified electrician (City & Guilds Pt Pt) or equivalentli liOther supervisory training as the Company decidesliulpstrongStandardsstrongpulliConversant with the appropriate servicing and installation clauses within the relevant parts of BS P & Building Regulations and be capable of applying these standards to the commissioning of the systemliululliTo operate business processes within the framework of ISO and LPSliulpstrongDocumentation strongpulliAble to read prepared plans and technical sketches repair systems in accordance with information provided and record changes to and the location of equipment on the installation drawings and the O & M manualliululliIdentifies and reports the requirement for new and additional works to the line ManagerliululliAccurately completes appropriate paperwork in line with Company requirementsliululliCalculates the incidence of false alarms and prepares advice for the customer on the implications of these incidentsliululliTo complete all documentation in line with Company requirements and ensure all engineers in the team have their paperwork completed on time and sent into the officeliulpstrongHealth and Safetystrongpul liHas completed and fully complies with the necessary H & S training as required As a minimum this will be the ECS Health and Safety Assessmentli liFully understands and complies with the Companys health and safety procedures and have signed up to the Trinity Health & Safety blueprintli li Reports safety issues responsibly and participates in improving practiceliul
