We are OCU, One Company United . We are currently recruiting for a Workshop supervisor to lead our panel manufacturing workshop located in Resolven in South Wales.

Job Responsibilities:

Ensure that all work is carried out in a safe manner that will not present harm or danger to others, and that all company guidelines and procedures are followed.

Supervise team members in duties, behaviour, and performance providing feedback on team strengths and weaknesses to management.

Ensure that the Workshop facility including all assigned Plant and Tools are maintained to relevant standards. Any identified spend is to be agreed and authorised by Management.

Assembly, construction, and wiring of Control Panels as per drawings, including use of hand tools and cutting of control panel apertures as per drawings. Work to be carried out in accordance with Hornbill Workshop Handover Documentation.

Attend site when requested to assist with commissioning or modifications.

Responsible and accountable for overseeing quality of completed work and that statutory regulations and all Hornbill Handover and testing procedures are being followed.

Responsible and accountable for ensuring that allocated build hours are being achieved, and that required deadlines agreed for Control Panel manufacture are being met.

Complete Control Panel wiring checks and system testing in line with our Quality System Testing procedures.

Advise and agree with Project Engineers resolutions to any discrepancies with Handover documentation, components, or drawings.

Organise workflow and ensure that team members understand their duties and delegated tasks.

Responsible for Apprentice and Visitor welfare whilst working in the Workshop facility.

Identify areas where improvements can be made to operating efficiency of the Workshop. Advise on Workshop consumables that need to be stocked to avoid delays or downtime.

Train any new team members in company standards, customer service, and job duties.

Undertake regular toolbox talks with workshop staff.

Undertake training as required to maintain or develop competency levels.

Carry out weekly inspections of the workshop area.


Key Skills Required:

Strong leadership and planning skills.

Proficiency in using hand and power tools and equipment for panel assembly and wiring.

Strong understanding of electrical control principles with the ability to read and interpret electrical schematics.

Strong safety awareness.

Attention to detail is vital to ensure high-quality standards.

Busbar fabrication skills are desirable.

Pipefitting skills are desirable.
