Due to rapid growth within the business, we are currently recruiting for a Trainee Quantity Surveyor to join our vibrant and dynamic team! At OCU Opals (Part of the OCU Group), we design, build, manage and maintain vital communications infrastructure for every-day use for a better-connected world. We work with major network operators, technology vendors and engineering companies to create the next generation of communication networks.

This role plays a vital part in supporting our Commercial Operations Team. The position involves handling various administrative tasks related to contracts, financial tracking, and communication with internal and external stakeholders. The role contributes to the smooth functioning of the commercial department, ensuring that projects are executed efficiently and in compliance with regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Raising Early Warning Notices
  • Manage the CE s (Compensation Events) and get them agreed with the client for payment before work has taken place.
  • Validate the AFP (Application for payment) with Delivery Team Project Manager
  • Validate the Joint Measure on a weekly basic with Client.
  • Asset in all commercial needs of the business
  • Manage Sub contractor payments & Queries.

What we are looking for:

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in using office software, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and interface with various stakeholders.
  • Basic understanding of financial concepts and data analysis.
  • A desire to learn and willingness to complete a Quantity Surveying accreditation.
