Job Title: Human Resource Manager
Location: Providence RI
Duration: 18 Months
The Program Manager I works within the Human Capital Management (HCM) Administrative Services division and performs complex audit and verification of all personnel transactions processed through the unit. These transactions include, but are not limited to, tracking accrued hours corrections; special purpose and contractual sick leave banks; and employment verification. The person in this role performs a variety of data entry activities that affect all departments, agencies, and employees of state government.
HCM provides services for all agencies and programs within state government related to compensation strategy, programs and analysis, job classification (descriptions) evaluation and reviews, civil service and non-civil service examinations, consultation on organizational design and oversight of administrative services.
The incumbent gathers supporting and confidential information as the basis for important labor, fiscal, and resource decisions for members of the senior leadership team and others. In addition, this person maintains official confidential records and verifies the correctness/completeness of documents submitted by agencies and as required, makes all necessary corrections and/or changes and communicates them to appropriate parties.
This person must communicate clearly; develop cohesive written reports and analyses, have the ability establish effective working relationships with a variety of internal and external customers. He/she must have experience handling, processing, and distribution of processed transaction records, confidential documents, and reports.
The successful candidate should have a minimum of an associate's degree in public administration, human resources management, or a related field, with three years' experience. Familiarity with the organization of state government and the function of state departments and agencies is a plus. This is a temporary position, with an estimated duration of 18-months, that reports to the Executive Director of Human Resources/Personnel Administrator and works on-site in Providence, RI.
