Job Description

Service supplier should be experienced with both NonStop Hardware and Software Support:

1. Upgrade Nonstop Operating Systems (OS), includes adding SPRS, using DSM/SCM.

2. Perform troubleshooting of Safeguard security setting and resolve issues, like incorrect disk file and volume rules.

3. Perform cold load of a system from the console, locally or through remote desktop to NS Server.

4. Document work performed in Help desk system, and in SharePoint files (like password or SYSNN change.)

5. Complete software installations like: Web Viewpoint, Viewpoint, Remote Server Call,

6. Safeguard addition of user-ids/groups, or deletion of user-ids/groups.

7. Perform OSS software installations like: TMF, SQL/MX, ITP Webserver, JDBC and Tuxedo.

8. Resolve communications problems on the Nonstop Systems (FTP, Java, JDBC, Telnet, CLIM settings.)

9. Clean up Guardian and OSS files from user-ids and/or groups & delete those user-ids/groups as projects complete.

10. Upgraded firmware on CLIMs, including cold loads of CLIMs.

11. Fix OSS problems with file and directory security.

12. Install and configure a storage CLIM or ip CLIM

13. Add or remove storage from a system

14. Add or remove processors from a system

15. Upgrade and downgrade firmware

16. Understands and can create TACL macros


Supplier will provide personnel with the following qualifications and skills to perform the Services:

Mandatory skills and experience for Supplier:

1. Expertise in NonStop System Administration - Hardware and Software

2. Familiar with NonStop NextGen, NonStop Blade, and NonStop Integrity Systems.

3. Knowledge and experience with Virtual NonStop, and VMware a major plus, as this is ultimately the direction for NonStop products.

4. Knowledge of Linux administration and KVM.

5. Knowledge of core NonStop products interacting with, SQL/MX, NSK, OSS and File System

6. Demonstrated strong interpersonal and telephone skills

7. Ability to work effectively with remote U.S. and offshore personnel

8. Effective written and verbal communication skills

9. Ability to work in a high-pressure environment

10. Ability to prioritize and perform multiple tasks

11. Demonstrated ability to adapt to a changing environment

12. Ability to define, implement, and monitor process changes

13. Problem-solving approach to resolve problems, improve processes, and increase productivity

14. Generation of status reports

15. Working with project schedules and timelines
