Used Car Sales Manager

Byerly Nissan

Byerly Nissan in Louisville Kentucky has an immediate opening for a Used Car Sales Manager with extensive used car sales management and inventory experience in a highly competitive metro market. Inventory management, buying, auction experience, training and desking deals experience a must.


Responsibilities (include but are not limited to):
  • Desk deals and coordinate used vehicle sales activities.
  • Attend vehicle auctions, purchase and recondition used vehicle inventory.
  • Meet monthly forecast for sales volume and sufficient gross to meet profit objectives.
  • Management and analysis of CRM system.
  • Recruit, hire and develop a retail sales force.
  • Establish a positive relationship with customers.
  • Maintain vehicle inventory and days supply.
  • Help to ensure that salespeople are informed of all new inventory and current advertising efforts, including rebates and incentives.
  • Appraise incoming used vehicles.
  • Enthusiastically assist sales people in customer interactions.
  • Enhance customer satisfaction during the entire purchase experience.
  • Supervise sales associates to ensure individual and department sales quotas are met.
  • Partner with the Financial Services Department to develop and coordinate best practices for the most efficient and effective sales approach.
  • Other duties may be assigned by management.

  • Requires thorough knowledge of Used Car Desk, Special Finance, Advertising and Used Car Inventory Management
  • Demonstrates behaviors consistent with the Company s Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers and vendors.
  • All applicants must perform duties and responsibilities in a safe manner.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Must be able to manage a team, motivate and develop sales employees.
  • Ability to be analytical, problem solve and multi-task.
  • Self-motivated enthusiastic presence in a team environment.
  • Strong written and communication skills.
  • Experience with ADP or other automotive software.
  • Consistent and stable work history.
  • Valid driver s license and clean driving record.
  • Professional appearance and work ethic.
  • All applicants must be able to demonstrate ability to pass pre-employment testing to include background checks, MVR, drug test, credit report, and valid drivers license.

Job Requirements:

  • Must have 2 years previous automotive Pre-Owned sales management experience
  • Must have desk and sales floor experience
  • Must have used vehicle auction experience
  • Must have exceptional inventory management software skills, V-Auto / Homenet
  • Must consent to pre-employment drug screen
  • Steady work and performance history
  • Outgoing personality with expertise at developing relationships (i.e., a people person")
  • Excellent appearance, verbal/written communication, strong negotiation and presentation skills
