About the job

Avion is looking for a Maintenance Manager for our Flight Training Centre at London Luton Airport. The Maintenance Manager leads the day-to-day operations of the Avion Flight Training Centre. This includes a maintenance engineering team, the Avion Flight Simulation Training Device(s), and the overall service to our clients. You keep the Full Flight Simulator(s) in an ultimate condition, compliant with the Civil Aviation Authority requirements. You are also a motivator for your team and a worthy interlocutor for our clients.

About Avion

Avion focuses on Full Flight Simulator design, manufacturing, and operation. Avion enables airlines to train at their home base, giving them complete control of the training schedule. This way, airlines can cut costs and CO2 emissions and have a well-rested flight crew. In other words, it benefits economic, environmental and social sustainability targets.

Tasks

  • Running a 24/7 operation, including staff scheduling.
  • Keep the training centre and simulator compliant with applicable regulations.
  • Modifications, improvements and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance of the simulator.
  • Ensure qualified personnel is appointed to each task.
  • Simulator issue-solving and tracking.
  • Objective and subjective tests have been performed.
  • Reports on simulator performances.
  • Sparepart management.
  • Day-to-day HSEQ management.
  • Liaise with the customer's on-site representatives and end-users to maintain currency with simulator training developments.
  • Day-to-day office management (stock, issues, cleaning etc.).

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • At least two years of managing a team of <10 staff members, including staff scheduling.
  • Hands-on experience in mechanical or electrical maintenance of machines (preferably both)
  • Knowledge of aircraft simulator systems like Instructor Operating Systems, Visual systems, simulation computing and QTG management is preferred.
  • SMS and Safety training.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.).Fluent in English (written and verbal).

Location

This job is based at the Avion Flight Training Centre UK, located at London Luton Airport (landside). You must have the right to live and work in the UK. The job is based on a shift pattern, working 4-on, 4-off, made up of days, nights, and weekends working.
