Data Engineer

Applica Corp. is looking for a highly skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in designing, building and maintaining scalable data pipelines, data warehousing, and data integration solutions. This role will play a critical part in enabling data-driven decision-making processes across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, construct, test, and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems.
• Utilize programming languages like Python & Java to build scalable data pipelines.
• Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, ensuring systems meet business requirements and industry practices for data integrity and quality.
• Implement ETL processes using tools and frameworks like Apache Nifi, Apache Kafka, or Apache Spark.
• Utilize data integration techniques, including data APIs, RESTful services, and message queues.
• Monitor data pipelines, troubleshooting and addressing issues as they arise.
• Understand and implement data security and privacy regulations like GDPR or HIPAA.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Proficiency in Python & Java programming languages.
• Experience with ETL tools and frameworks (Apache Nifi, Apache Kafka, or Apache Spark).
• Proficiency with SQL and understanding of both relational and non-relational databases.
• Knowledge of Azure data warehousing concepts and platforms.
• Experience with workflow management tools like Apache Airflow or Luigi.
• Strong communication skills, ability to work in a collaborative environment, and willingness to learn.
