Retailer Buyer

Salary: $70-85k

As a Retail Buyer, you will oversee inventory levels of all fresh produce to make sure all fresh produce items are sold at maximum turnover rates to minimize shrinkage and maximize customer satisfaction with produce quality and supply . You will coordinate purchases with staff to properly match supply and demand. You will develop forecasts for seasonal and specialty items and set sales prices or price parameters for produce categories. You will visit accounts to discuss opportunities to improve and/or expand sales and service and work with suppliers to develop promotional events. Annually, you will do category reviews of items purchased to ensure competitive pricing, quality and service.

Desired Skills and Experience

You may be perfect for this Retail Buyer position if you have:

An Associate degree in Supply Chain, Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field is preferred
Experience in produce or perishable food industry is preferred
Proven track record in buying for produce that exhibits results-driven approach
Ability to establish and maintain customer and vendor contacts and relationships
Experience in both retail and foodservice
Excellent communication skills and analytical abilities
Proficient computer skills with the ability to learn new software
Self-motivation and are able to function as part of a team
Valid state motor vehicle license with acceptable motor vehicle record and personal motor vehicle insurance
