We are looking for a Staff Accountant that enjoys interacting with clients! Great Opportunity to work with nonprofits and make a difference. This role is mostly hybrid with a 4 days from home and 1 day in the office.

What you will be doing- Working with a fast paced team and helping your clients with monthly accounting.

  • Performing general ledger account and bank reconciliation
  • Preparing journal entries and financial statements
  • Completing all grant compliance reports and budget-to-actual variance reports, client interaction, resolving client, governmental agency and auditor inquiries.
  • Perform analysis and provide reasoning for variances.
  • Prepare various schedules for balance sheet support including amortization and fixed asset schedules.
  • Review weekly bank reconciliations and cash position reports prepared by the Accounting Associate.
  • Record all inter-company transactions and transfers.
  • This position reports to an Accounting Manager and provides ongoing career growth opportunities with experiential training and development.
  • Assist with entry and review of other monthly transactions as needed.
  • Communicate with management regarding cash flow issues and potential courses of action.
  • Reconcile inter-company accounts.
  • Perform month-end close procedures and prepare financial statements as needed.
  • Complete all grant compliance reports and budget-to-actual variance reports for assigned clients.
  • Be a resource for clients when questions arise regarding banking, reporting, and other accounting matters.
  • Resolve inquiries from clients, governmental agencies, and auditors.
  • Assist in special projects and year-end audit schedule preparation.
Skills you should have
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field. A Master’s degree or CPA is a plus.
  • Experinece working accounting software
  • At least 2 years of experience preparing financial statements (full close).
  • Purposes, methods, and practices of financial and accounting record-keeping.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and Intermediate Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook) skills.
