Job Title: Calibration Technician

Our Client is a prominent manufacturing company headquartered in the United Kingdom, situated in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester. They specialise in the production of Temperature Sensors, Cables & Connectors (Thermocouple, RTD/Pt100/Pt1000), and the supply of Process Control & Logging Instrumentation, Pressure Gauges & Transmitters. With a UKAS accredited Temperature Calibration laboratory and a commitment to traceable calibration services for Humidity & Pressure products, they are at the forefront of precision measurement.

Role Description:

As a Calibration Technician at Our Client's facility, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and reliability of their test equipment and instrumentation. This full-time on-site position requires you to schedule, execute, and meticulously document calibration activities. You will also be responsible for diagnosing equipment issues and collaborating with laboratory personnel to maintain calibration standards in accordance with UKAS compliance.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in calibration techniques, with hands-on experience in executing and documenting calibration activities for various test equipment and instrumentation.
  • Strong laboratory skills, demonstrated by previous work experience in a laboratory environment, including equipment maintenance and record-keeping.
  • Hands-on experience with test equipment, including the ability to operate, troubleshoot, and maintain various types of testing apparatus.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with a track record of identifying and resolving technical issues related to calibration and test equipment.
  • Familiarity with calibration uncertainty calculations and the factors contributing to them.
  • Competence in instrumentation maintenance and calibration across a diverse range of equipment.
  • Ideally, a degree-level education in metrology, physics-based sciences, or a related field.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong mathematical acuity and reasoning abilities.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently to meet targets.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

Working Hours:

  • Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Benefits:

  • 20 days of paid holiday (in addition to public holidays), with annual increases up to a maximum of 25 days.
  • Negotiable salary based on experience.
