National Road Logistics and Customs Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced National Road and Customs Manager in Doha, Qatar. In this job, you will play a significant to create and implement a strategy for business development and operations in line with overall company strategy and policies for the Road freight, Expo and Events and Stand-Alone Customs Business Field. Your Role As a National Road and Customs Manager, you will develop and maintain profitable operations and to recruit, manage, motivate, and lead the Road freight team as well as sales contribution from a base of existing customers whilst seeking new business opportunities. And you will be leading Road freight position in the country and will have direct reporting responsibilities to the Managing Director and dotted Line to the Regional Road freight Director. Duties and responsibilities are carried out in line with Corporate Road freight policies and in close partnership with corporate resources and other business fields and functional units Your Responsibilities • Determine / co-operates in the determination of the business strategy and executes / secures its implementation. • Acquire / support the acquisition of new business and supports the account management. • Promote customer relations and develops the existing client base. • Direct / support the business development process (tender analysis, solution design, costing, pricing, and service offering) • Participate and measure RFQ success in the Expo and Events market and be the go-to Expo and Events expert in the market. • Localize the global Road freight products to meet local market expectations and requirements and Liaison with Regional • Road freight Management regarding the administration of and upkeep of carrier’s contracts. • Drive the market and network knowledge of the Expo and Events Product and develop and maintain relationships within the Expo and Events Market place. • Set / manage carrier’s strategy, including managing local carrier’s contacts, rates negotiations, and bilateral process in alignment to the framework of the global preferred carrier program and secure the continuity of regional or national carrier relationships. • Ensure efficient Road logistics operations and continuously optimises the operations; and increases productivity by implementing standard processes in line with corporate guidelines and targets. (Such as Data Quality) • Take full responsibility for the department P/L and for the preparation, presentation, and implementation of budget / targets and Responsible for the labour cost/control within his department. Your Skills and Experiences • Minimum 10 years relevant experience in Road freight Operations & Development related fields. • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant field; MBA or PhD are nice to have. • At least 3 years leading a team with excellent results. • Good understanding of Budgets and P&L. • Excellent connections with Carriers. • Self-starter who can develop a new business with a truly growth driven mindset and who is capable to approach the market and key customers. • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills in English, several areas require good to very good language skills of country of the development area (Arabic) good to have. #LI-PA1 Good Reasons to Join You will be part of the world’s leading logistics provider, where you will have the opportunity to impact the business by providing a high level of customer care.
