Job Overview
Our client is looking for experienced carpenters, skilled in installation and repairs, to join our Marine team. The position is full-time and an exciting opportunity to within the Marine Industry in and around Plymouth on luxury pleasure crafts. There is a regular opportunity to work abroad and travel in the UK.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform internal carpentry package builds, repairs, and modifications on time/on budget.
- Design, manufacture, installation, refurbishment repair, maintenance, and service of marine craft worldwide.
- Update management via management software in a timely manner.
- Replace windows and glass on motor yachts.
- Complete repair work in a timely manner using the workflow and reporting systems.
- Maintain and use necessary tools.
- Must continually use protective materials when working and use personal protective equipment as necessary.
- Other duties as assigned by Heads of Departments.
Requirements
- 5 years of carpentry.
- Good work ethic and attitude.
- Maintain high standard of work.
- Ability to work well in a team or alone.
- Ability to safely operate shop woodworking machinery.
- An understanding of interior and exterior d cor and understand decorator and architechural drawings if necessary.
- Be responsible for many jobs in addition to woodworking such as outfitting of hardware to exterior of yachts and have the ability to periodically board vessels in and out of the water, work steadily in confined spaces, climb, lift, and move lumber and supplies as necessary.
- Must understand basic requirements for proper disposal of hazardous materials.
- Must understand how to store materials, contain particulate matter and have a solid understanding of environmental regulations and a respect for the same.
