ChIPs Network is a nonprofit organization that advances and connects women in
technology, law and policy. We accelerate innovation through diversity of thought,
participation and engagement. Since 2005, ChIPs has grown to more than 6,000
members in 25 chapters around the world. Our community includes law firms,
corporations and government. Our members are engaged in law, policy, advocacy, the
judiciary and innovation.

Job Summary

The Communications Manager works with the Executive Director and the Directors of
Partnerships, Content/Learning/DEIB, Community/Chapters, and Events to develop
external communications that inspire, engage, and inform the ChIPs community about
its activities, events and mission. The Communications Manager is an expert in mission-
driven communications, including content creation, digital communications, email
marketing, marketing automation and social media planning, execution, and
measurement. The position requires an understanding of social media platforms and
their application in nonprofit, tech and policy. The Communications Manager is a
strategic thinker and hands-on “do-er,” driving all aspects of the organization’s
communications and content strategy and execution.

Responsibilities you will be expected to perform:
  • Execute all ChIPs communications to effectively advance the organization.
  • Work with Executive Director and outside consultant to implement communications
  • and content strategy.
  • Help develop communications policies and procedures, including branding
  • guidelines.
  • Create and implement email and social media campaigns on major platforms.
  • Track key ROIs across social media, website traffic and email.
  • Maintain ChIPs website and write, review and update website content as needed.
  • Work with outside consultant and Director of Events on a marketing plan for annual
  • ChIPs Global Summit and NextGen events.
  • Create and execute event marketing plans to drive attendance and enrollment in
  • programs such General Counsel Boot Camp, Hall of Fame Dinner etc.
  • Work with Director of Community to promote chapter events on social media and
  • website.
  • Create and manage all event marketing content via email, social media and
  • community platform.
  • Promote engagement on ChIPs online community platform.
  • Work with Director of Partner and Business Development to develop recognition
  • programs and sponsored content.
  • Create and deliver email newsletters as needed.
  • Maintain metrics and help develop annual Impact Report.
  • Manage video and digital content strategy; collaborate with Director of Events on
  • event-related video and photography.
  • Keep inventory of digital content from events and programs (photos, videos and
  • content).
  • Edit and proofread external facing communications drafted by other team members,
  • including Executive Director.
  • Manage publicity and media outreach.
  • Measure editorial content engagement and trends, and proactively suggest topics and strategies for continuous program improvement.

What we are looking for:
  • College degree or equivalent experience.
  • 2-5 years of experience in communications or related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with close attention to detail.
  • Excellent project management skills with ability to focus on multiple projects.
  • Proficient in social media, web and email strategies and platforms.
  • Familiar with new technologies and online collaboration tools and graphics programs
  • such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, WordPress and Google Analytics.
  • Ability to work remotelyand collaborate with a larger team on projects.
  • Resourceful and flexible, and able to learn and create new processes.
