Requirements:
The candidate must hold a master's degree in physical therapy from an accredited educational institution, passing the National Physical Therapist Examination (NPTE), and holding a valid license to practice physical therapy. Physical Therapists should also maintain current knowledge of treatment practices and possess strong professional writing skills for reports and correspondence.In addition to the educational and licensing requirements, completion of an American Physical Therapy Association (APTA)-accredited residency program is typically necessary. Document requirements often include a state PT license, COVID-19 certificate, Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate, a physical examination record, and additional certifications such as ASHA, CHT (Certified Hand Therapist), and ACP (Advanced Clinical Practice) training. These qualifications and documents are essential for a career as a Physical Therapist.
