AutoCAD Designer / Mechanical Design Engineer : Workington
Salary : 30,000 - 50,000
MacArthur Recruitment are working for a UK based engineering and construction organisation who are seeking a skilled CAD Mechanical Design Engineer in West Cumbria. They are looking for a degree of HND qualified engineer to utilise CAD to progress designs to commercial completion.
As a minimum you will be competent with designing mechanical assets via AutoCAD, or similar, and the other aspects in the job description will be developmental skills for you.
You will work on all product stages from research and development to design and manufacture, through to installation and final commissioning.
Overview of the AutoCAD Designer - Mechanical Design Engineer role :
- As a minimum you will be competent with designing mechanical assets via AutoCAD
- Develop CAD project drawings
- Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
- Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
- Evaluate final product s overall performance, reliability and safety
- Alter and modify design to meet requirements and to eliminate malfunctions
- Prepare product reports and documentation
- Engage in lifelong learning and develop new theories or methods
- Present design plans to Managers and clients
- Produce technical documents
Your background for the AutoCAD Designer - Mechanical Design Engineer role :
- Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
- Proven working experience in mechanical engineering
- Creativity and analytical skills
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner
- Technical writing skills
- BSc or HND in Engineering
- Ability to work well with a team.
- Ideal / bonus experience:
- In Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD)
- Computer-aided engineering (CAM) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAE)
- Some knowledge of engineering analysis tools (ANSYS, ProMechanica or similar)
- In Mathematical computing and analysis tools knowledge (Matlab, Excel, LabView etc)
