Join a strong team of Critical Care physicians and Advance Practice Providers providing top level care with excellent nursing and administrative support! Our Critical Care Service Line encompasses all critical care locations throughout Centra supported by a dyad leadership structure to lead all aspects of strategic planning and execution, financial performance, workforce staffing and engagement and QI initiatives. All initiatives, tactics and implementation plans are developed through collaboration with and contribution from the medical and administrative directors as well as nursing and administrative leadership. Our main hospital (Lynchburg General Hospital) includes 357 beds, 43 of which are dedicated to critical care including Cardiothoracic, Neurological, Medical and Surgery/Trauma.

About Centra Medical Group
Centra Medical Group (CMG) is composed of 500+ Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers and serves over 250,000 central and southern Virginians. CMG offers an integrated healthcare system, including 4 hospitals, 5 regional medical centers, 70+ physician practices, including primary care, medical, and surgical specialists. Enhancements will include a split flow model of care to expedite and enhance patient experience of care, an integrated EmPATH psychiatric patient space, super track/imaging/results lounge and improved connectivity and utilization of the ED observation unit. Required Qualifications
- Completion of medical degree and residency/fellowship training
- MD/DO with certification by an American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) board in physician's primary specialty. Must be board certified or board eligible.
- Applicants not from an internal medicine background (neuro, anesthesia, ER, surgery) are welcome to apply, but they should be comfortable caring for a wide breadth of patients. Interest in neurocritical care is a plus, but not mandated. Applicants should be comfortable with typical critical care procedures including intubation, central line placement, management of shock, and chest tube placement.
