Job Description

Sinewave continues to power up across the energy industry and we are looking for a Major Projects Project Manager to lead, drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects.

Role Purpose: To be responsible for the overall ownership 33 - 132kV switchgear and primary substation projectsfrom award to completion for various renewable technologies. TheMajorProject Manager will be a key point of contact and will work closely with the Commercial, Design and Supply Chain departments to ensure our projects are delivered first time, every time against budget and in full.


Core Responsibilities:
  • Deliver completed projects on time, routinely.
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders and clients.
  • Define and embed project control and governance.
  • Design and maintain accurate and current programs of work for the projects they deliver.
  • Provide Project planning, Milestone management, Scope management, Resource forecasting; Financial Management; Change Management across the project portfolio.
  • Provide routine updates and reports at an operational and commercial level.
  • Oversee project costs and ensure finances are well managed.
  • Support the Commercial team with project feedback, recommendations and lessons learned.
  • Deliver projects sustainably in consideration of competence, capability and safety.
  • Take decisions as and when required.
  • Attend site when necessary to troubleshoot or monitor quality.
  • Conduct audits.
  • Maximise profitability for the business at all times, considering innovative or better practices to deliver project efficiency wherever it is possible to do so.
  • Ensure cross-programme dependencies are managed and the dependency log is accurately maintained.
  • Ensure efficient change control methods and processes are utilised.


Requirements

Core Competencies:

  • Proficient in the use of Productivity and Collaboration Software such as Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint etc. across multiple platforms such as smart phones, tablets, laptops etc.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to adapt your communication style.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to use own initiative as well as work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Excellent listening skills with ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Extensive Project Management experience, particularly within the electrical utility industry.
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI).
  • Proven track record of effectively managing both projects and employees.
  • Competence in MS Project or equivalent Project Management software.
  • Ability to work with multiple teams at any one time.
  • Understanding of the Project life cycle, from ownership to completion.
  • Project profit and loss forecasting and delivery.
  • Project reporting, particularly progress against target and budget.
  • Agility in challenging situations, with the ability to find appropriate cost-effective solutions.
  • Customer Management.
  • Ability to drive and deliver complex, multi-million-pound projects.
  • Excellent organisation and coordination skills.


Experience and Qualifications:
Overseas equivalents are also accepted. Practical application will be considered in line with any qualifications obtained

  • Experience working for and ICP or DNO at EHV voltage levels (33-132k)
  • Project Management qualification or equivalent experience (e.g. Prince 2, APM, PMI)
  • Full UK driving license (Minimum of 3 Penalty Points)
  • Emergency first aid at workqualification
  • Experience working alongside Design teams
  • Experienceworking in the electrical industry
  • Experience working tendering
  • SMSTS
