Job Description

The Ultrasonographer is responsible to the Department Director or Manager. They are to be clinically competent, deliver care to patients utilizing the department and organization policy and procedure. Effectively interacts with patients, significant others, and other health team members while maintaining standards of ASRT and ARDMS.

  • Location: Mt. Vernon, WA
  • Duration: 13 weeks
  • Shifts: 4 x 10s, most likely 0700 - 1730 Monday - Thursday. Call required (could be up to 3-4 call calls shifts a month)
Responsibilities:
  • Performs direct patient care, utilizing established policies, procedures and standards
  • Administers contrast and IVs according to policy and procedure
  • Accurately executes provider orders according to policies and procedures
  • Performs indirect patient care, utilizing established procedures, policies, and standards
  • Communicates pertinent information to the appropriate persons in a timely manner
  • Performs accurate and timely documentation
  • Perform abdominal, vascular and obstetrical and gynecological ultrasound examinations including small parts by producing appropriate images on adult, geriatric, adolescent, pediatric and neonatal patients
  • Assists Radiologist in performing surgical procedures
  • Adhere to ASRT and ARDMS standards of practice
  • Able to work independently and unsupervised and be available for regular emergency standby coverage off hours and on weekends
  • Availability to work at multiple locations
  • Maintains a clean, neat, and safe environment for patients and staff according to policies and procedures
  • Ensures that supplies and equipment necessary for patient care are stored in an organized and efficient manner
  • Demonstrates correct and safe techniques in the use of equipment according to specific product information
  • Follows appropriate procedures for obtaining and returning or cleaning/disposing of equipment and supplies
  • Participates in economical utilization of supplies and ensures that equipment is maintained in a clean and safe manner

Job Requirements:
High school diploma or GED required
Graduate of an accredited school for Diagnostic Ultrasound program
Current Washington RN licensure; compact will not be accepted
2 years of sonography expertise
Current BLS, BCLS, ARDMS(AB)

Minimum 1 year experience performing a wide range of ultrasound exams preferred

Pay Package:
Gross Pay For This Contract
Hourly Pay with Stipend
$79.81
Weekly Pay with Stipend
$3,192.22
Monthly Pay with Stipend
$12,768.89

Additional Accommodation Payment Package:
The payment package will be adjusted based on flight and car rental rates, should these accommodations be required.
