Job Summary Description:
The Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for managing and directing the quality assurance activities for the
plant to include product preparation and distribution, microbiology, sanitation, finished product analysis, package
integrity testing, Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP)/Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and process
control.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company policies and applicable laws
- Interview, hire, and train associates
- Plan, assign, and direct work
- Appraise performance
- Address complaints and resolve problems
- Builds positive associate morale
- Ensures local, state, federal, and company quality standards are met for products produced by the facility
- Oversees and directs the efforts of the plant Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP) plan, including Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) development, auditing, and corrective action plan development
- Investigates, reports, and formulates corrective action plans on plant specific consumer complaints, food safetycomplaints and complaint trends
- Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
Requirements:
- Valid driver s license required and obligation to maintain compliance with company fleet policy
- Ability to read, write and speak English
- Ability to maintain a neat professional appearance within Company guidelines
- Ability to maintain safety and security of Company assets
- Ability to utilize all Company provided resources and technology
- Strong leadership and organizational skills
- Proven ability to coach and manage needs and concerns of multiple associates
- Bachelors degree (B. A.) from four-year College or university; or 3 to 5 year s related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Two to four (2-4) years prior supervisory experience in manufacturing environment
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word)
- Knowledge of current Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACPP) / Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)regulations
- Working knowledge of lab equipment
