SolarEdge Engineering in California is working on developing new products related to solar, e-mobility (EV) and other renewable industries. All projects involve full engineering design cycle, from concept to prototype to production. Our engineering teams are constantly pushing the boundaries beyond industry standards to achieve products of highest reliability and efficiency.

SolarEdge is looking for a skilled Hardware Engineer with experience in digital and analog design to help lead new power electronics product research and development. You will contribute to the design and architecture of new products and support the Hardware and Firmware teams in implementation and troubleshooting through all product lifecycle stages.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Collaboration with product management and engineering teams to determine hardware requirements.
  • Designing and developing power related circuits for high power solar and EV applications
  • Schematic entry, component selection, DFx best practices, drive the layout of PCBAs.
  • Collaborating with software engineers to ensure software compatibility and integration with the hardware components.
  • Testing hardware prototypes and analyzing and interpreting performance data.
  • Innovate technologically to enhance performance, cost, TTM and reliability of our products.
  • Oversee the manufacturing process to ensure the design meets the electrical, manufacturability and reliability requirements
  • Collaborate with engineers and leaders to perform cross-functional tasks such as Hardware/Firmware System development and review process, EMI design and testing, FMEA, PCB layout design, lab testing troubleshooting and failure analysis.

Requirements :

  • BS or MS in Electrical Engineering with experience in digital and power electronics design.
  • 5+ years of experience with designing power electronics systems.
  • Direct experience with schematic capture and power electronic PCBA design and debug
  • Familiar with power semiconductors: MOSFETs, IGBTs, etc.
  • Familiar with MATLAB/Simulink, PSPICE, or equivalent.


Additional Preferred:

  • Experience different types of power supply topologies.

At SolarEdge, we are committed to fair, transparent pay and we strive to provide competitive, market-informed compensation. The pay range for this position at the start of employment is expected to be between $150K-$200K. For this specific posting, we have multiple openings for multiple levels. It is anticipated that most qualified candidates will fall near the middle of this range. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations.

Even more importantly, please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at SolarEdge. Subject to those same considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a bonus and/or equity awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
