Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Estimating Manager to provide critical decision-making support to our national and commercial estimating teams. In this role, you will be responsible for reviewing and approving all cost estimates for projects over a certain threshold, ensuring they fall within the parameters of projects that our company can execute successfully if awarded. Additionally, you will provide guidance, training, and coaching to our estimators, and support our sales team with up-to-date market knowledge on product and material costs alongside procurement.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other project documentation to determine project requirements
• Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for flooring projects
• Maintain accurate records of project details, estimates, and costs
• Provide guidance and support to the estimating team and project managers
• Keep up to date with industry trends, products, and technologies
• Develop and implement strategies for improving the estimation process and increasing accuracy and efficiency
• Ensure that all estimates are prepared in a timely manner and meet quality standards
• Review and analyze data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and areas of risk
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders to ensure project requirements are met
• Train and mentor flooring estimators on best practices, new technologies, and industry developments
• Prepare reports and present information to leadership

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, preferred but not required
• Previous management experience and responsibility for the overall performance of a team
• Minimum 5 years of experience in estimating commercial floor covering projects in a competitive environment
• Proficient in MS Office Suite with advanced knowledge of Excel
• Experience with software such as MeasureSquare estimating software preferred but not required
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Highly detail-oriented
• Highly efficient at interpreting plans and specifications to produce quality estimates
• Able to work with a sense of urgency while maintaining accuracy
