JOB TITLE: STEAM/ eSports Instructor

POSITION: Seasonal/ Part-time

SITE: San Gabriel Valley

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develop and deliver creative and engaging lesson plans in STEAM subjects, with a focus on science and Mathematics.
• Lead eSports training programs, focusing on Rocket League, Super Smash Brothers, and Overwatch 2, to help students excel in competitive gaming.
• Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their learning experience.
• Collaborate with other instructors and staff to continuously improve and expand our educational offerings.
• Maintain a positive, inclusive and safe learning environment for all students.
• Attend and participate in professional development sessions, staff meetings, and other organizational events.
• Assist in organizing and promoting community events, tournaments, and other outreach initiatives

KNOWLEDGE,SKILLS,AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

• Demonstrated experience in teaching or tutoring STEAM subjects, Particularly science and Mathematics.
• In-depth knowledge of eSports, including competitive play in Rocket League, Super Smash Brothers, and Overwatch 2
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
• strong organizational and time-management abilities
• A passion for education and a commitment to the growth and development of our students
• Flexibility to adapt to the changing needs of our programs and organization.
• Agility to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Patient and able to connect with students.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIRMENTS:

1. In a 4 year college degree program or the completion of a 2 year college degree program
2. Bilingual preferred. Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking. Spanish preferred.
3. All NCRF employees/contractors shall undergo a criminal background check, including a fingerprint check by the State and/or FBI

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, lift, carry, move about, hear and speak. Employees will be required to perform extensive work at a television screen and/or computer screen. Employees must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25lbs to 50lbs

Pay Range:

$17.00 - $18.00 per hour
