Senior Automation Consultant

Specialist Consultant (Automation) position will perform/direct the development, design and

implementation of Process Control Systems and assist Safety Instrumented System Engineers on new

and upgrading of existing industrial process instrumentation and control This Engineer is a key

member of a diverse team of professionals executing process control Resource must have an

excellent understanding of heavy industry process control and safety instrumentation to develop and

execute the project control strategies and system architecture used on assigned

This Engineer must be able to develop good working relationships with the project team members as

well as client technical and management personnel to which they They will be accountable for

performing/directing activities regarding the process control system design details with DeltaV as the

control system platform and the process safety system and interfacing with other process control

systems as They also must work closely with the Project Managers to provide installations

that are successful not only technically, but on time and budget as

Responsibilities

Provide Engineering services and lead a team of Process Automation System engineers in developing

information for creation of design documentation including: Preparation of Configuration Functional

Design Specifications, Consulting with the Safety Instrumented System Engineer to develop control

strategies for Basic Process Control Systems, implementing new product technologies where appropriate

such as DeltaV, DeltaV SIS, AMS (Asset Management System), Configuring DeltaV Control Systems

from Control Narratives & P&IDs using Function Blocks, Structured Text and Sequential Function

Additional responsibilities include: assisting E&I Engineers in the coordination and installation of control

systems and field instrumentation, coordinating Process Automation Systems design activities with the

other team disciplines and project management assuring multiple assigned projects meet their design

schedules and budget metrics, assisting other project team engineers in Process Automation System

project efforts including hardware specifications and configuration, assisting in planning and executing

integration testing, Factory Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning and startup or

hot cutover as

Typical work assignments include performing Front-end Engineering Design Studies, leading a team

through project execution, performing control system configuration (control & graphics), integration of

Programmable Logic Controls and field devices, perform Factory Acceptance Testing, provide site

construction/installation and hot cutover support, perform Check-Out, Site Acceptance Testing,

Commissioning and Working with customers to provide technical direction and

Preparing engineering estimates for the project design, configuration, graphics, execution,

construction support, Factory Acceptance Testing, check-out, Site Acceptance Testing, commissioning

and hot cutover/

Requirements

Provide automation consulting and batch architect consulting for customers applying S88

project concepts

Work with customers and project teams to solve complex control problems requiring industry

Work with customers to develop project methodologies that will affect their standards and

develop functional requirements based on observation of the process or input from process

Solve complex process control problems in the Industry and start up complex systems at

customer s

Lead, plan and organize the work of project teams, and act as a mentor for individuals within

the

Design, implement and test controls for a complex process or area of a project and provide

application and process

Lead department efforts to improve

Candidate must have good verbal and written communication skills in

Required Skills

BS in a related engineering field ( Electrical, Instrument, Chemical)

Minimum 10 years Industry experience

Minimum 7 years DeltaV configuration experience with both Batch and Continuous applications

Process control project experience

Ability to develop proposals and quote large complex batch projects

Industry best practices finder and Understand, in detail, concepts of current

advance control techniques and the control requirements of most commonly used process

Ability to solve process control problems using these

Experience in startup of large automation

Cost justify process improvements/projects
