Freelance Temporary 2D Animator for Rogue-like Deckbuilding Game

At Spellfusion, we strive to create captivating indie games by merging the tried and trusted with the innovative and We're looking for a 2D animator based in NRW, Germany, to support our latest project, Nether Spirits, for a maximum of three months.

Depending on your schedule, you can start the position between March 2023 and June

Nether Spirits is a rogue-like deckbuilder set in a mystical realm known as The Nether, a place where fractured souls fight tooth and nail to reach their goal: a pillar of blue light said to make them whole

The listing will remain open until the position is filled or the number of applicants exceeds our HR

Tasks

• Rigging of 2D assets (characters, environment props, creatures) & animation as 2D puppets in Unity (animation style reference: )
• Active participation in the asset creation process for animation purposes
• Dividing assets into separate components and preparing them for the animation process

Requirements

• You live in North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), Germany, or are willing to move to NRW for the duration of the job (necessary due to funding regulations)
• You have extensive experience in 2D animation and rigging
• You're able to make different characters and creatures come to life by creating fitting movements for each one
• You're able to work in a team and incorporate feedback into your design process
• You're fluent in either German or English

Bonus if:

• You're experienced with Unity
