Job Description
Supporting a leading OTT streaming service, NEP is seeking a Lead MCR Operator to join our Live Streaming Operations team in Los Angeles, The Live Streaming Operations team is responsible for managing and monitoring inbound/outbound transmission, ad insertion, feed routing, and overall video/audio/caption quality for marquee sporting events and other live The Lead MCR Operator will join this new and expanding team, providing master control and live operations support for various events per client requirements and NEP This position will require schedule flexibility, including weekends, late nights, and
What You Will Do
- Acquire and monitor all inbound video, audio, caption feeds
- Monitor and maintain the continuity and availability of live broadcast
- Route various signals according to booking and program schedule information
- Cue & roll slate on EVS IP Director
- Count in and out of studio & Truck segments and commercial breaks
- Troubleshoot technical issues and escalate to Engineer-in-Charge
- Report and document technical issues including logging of on-air discrepancies
- Operate all broadcast equipment and technology within assigned operating areas
- Participate in special event coverage and projects as necessary
- Train and develop junior operators, leveling up their skills and expertise
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years experience
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory capacity
- Works well under the pressure of Live Television
- General understanding and experience with broadcast routers, transmission systems, monitoring, playout/ad insertion, valid readers, replay, graphics, and other television technology
- Ability to read scopes and basic understanding of broadcast and streaming systems
- Schedule flexibility with the ability to work late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Spanish and/or French skills beneficial
