For a permanent position at our client s site (home office possible within Switzerland), a mid-sized bank based in Zurich, we are looking for an experienced

Application Reliability Engineer.

In this exciting role, you will be working in the application operation team and are responsible for latency, availability, monitoring, performance, deployments, emergency response, lifecycle, planning and progress behind various software services within the bank.

Tasks

• Technical single point of contact for both IT vendors and business users
• Responsible for defining availability targets, service level objectives and error budgets
• Study, analyze and reverse engineer existing or new business applications and be accountable to deliver continuous improvements
• Define measurements for applications similar to black box testing, recognize patterns with statistical methods and suggest improvements
• In charge of the end-to-end accountability for the full technology stack of applications to the respective application portfolio as well as the net promotion score and lower total cost of ownership for a business service
• Define and implement defense in depth and graceful degradation principles for -critical services

Requirements

• 5 years experience as Application Reliability Engineer with focus on system administration or software engineering
• Strong engineering skills across different systems on diverse technology stacks
• Able to think statistically to uncloak hidden anomalies and suggest long-term solutions
• Team player and the ability to work with 3rd party vendors
• Good communication skills and an open style to provide to the management
• Fluent in English, German is an advantage
